Recommended Canon/Nikon DSLR's for 800$ or under?

I'm getting a new camera and have been doing research but I was curious as to what the people on answers would have to say. I'm an amateur photographer but that doesn't mean I only want very simple functioning cameras suggested. I've heard that Canon's are easier to use and figure out, however that is not a deciding factor for me.

I prefer Canon.
I have a Canon T2i. I got mine for about $650.
I was debating between Canon and Nikon too when I was trying to decide on one. For me what it all came down to was comfort. With Nikon my hand seemed to be a little squished but with Canon my hand was more relaxed and ultimately more comfortable. So I chose a Canon.

Nikon!
I love everything Nikon!
I feel Nikon is a lot easier to use.
I have the D7000, and before I had the D3000, and they've both been great cameras, they take fantastic pictures, they're well worth their price (which isn't any more than Canon I might add!

You'll get lots of different opinions, all of them based on personal experience. I too am a Canon guy and recommend the t2i for your budget.

DSLRs, simple or not, can give great quality but only if you learn.
What you heard is completely wrong, it's like I would claim Ford is the best brand because I like how the radio is like. There are millions of people and millions of favorite stuff.
Both brands are easy to figure out, I mean, read the manual, online and you're done. Then you practice!
Canon EOS T2i, Nikon D3100 and Pentax K-r would be the best.
