Problems with 35mm Nikon N75?

I brought it out to use tonight and put a fresh roll of film in it. Problem is the first photo I tried to take, the film completely rewound back into the canister. Any ideas as to why this happened? I really like this camera and would like to use it again.

If you don't have the manual yet, get one at http://butkus.org then read it from cover to cover.

Fuzzy, it sounds like instead of advancing the film, you rewound it. Do you know how to use this camera? Here is a direct link to the manual:

You can get the film back out of the canister using one of a film retriever. Buy whichever model you like and then keep it in your camera bag for situations like this!
