What are you trying to say… Cannon is less attractive than nikon!

Lol I work as a pro level photrographer and trust me i'm not freelance
cannon is better to be short it is the lens

INTRO:
the most basic mistake people tend to make with a dslr camera is the fact that they think that the lens only affects zoom abd the body handles the rest well the lens is key to your low light problem

THE LENS IS YOUR PROBLEM:
the lens controls how much light is allowed into your camera and in the camera body is the image sensor- your blank canvace if you will go to b&h.com anyone who is pro goes here and they are well priced just look for a lens that is rated as good in low light and trust me you will find one under 600

It depends on the model/price of the camera. Not the brand. Canon is equally good, by the way which is the model of cameras in case of both the makes.
Try shooting in scene mode like daylight or may be 'beach' mode (for canon).
What's more if the camera can't do it, the software does i.e, photoshop corrects the photo for you. Ya, of course i know you are worried about the camera.

So are these cameras pretty close in technical specs? Or is hers a dslr and yours a small compact. If you're going to ask a question like this perhaps we should know the models.

Same ISO?

Several possibilities:
Hers has image stabilisation
Hers has faster ISO setting
Hers has wider aperture lens
Hers has better ergonomic design that enables shutter release without moving the camera
