Nikon or Canon? For video?
OK I'm on budget but I want to buy a digital camera today for Cyber Monday. I don't want to spend more that 3, 000. I want a camera that has really good video resolution. I'm clueless for what to look for… I was looking at these two cameras but I still don't know what can be better to make small music videos. Help.
Nikon D600 24-Megapixel DSLR Camera
Canon EOS 5D Mark II - 21 Megapixel Digital SLR
I would choose Canon for video because Nikon is mostly still photography.
Nikon cameras have always been of better quality in my opinion.
Nikon.
If your budget is really $3000.00, quit looking @ DSLR's & find a Sony HVR series camcorder. It makes no sense to spend that kind of money on a DSLR to shoot video.
If your whole goal is to shoot video, buy a video camera.
Here is why

Spending $3, 000 on a dSLR to shoot video leaves you no room for the added cost of the other accessories you need to make it a viable video camera.
If you are buying a dSLR to principally shoot stills and from time to time record a short video, the go for the camera with the best sensor performance.
When I shoot video, I rent one of the 3-CCD, pro video cameras.
Sony's SLT's from the A57 upward will beat the video quality of any Still Nikon or Canon, short of getting the Canon 1Dc.
Sony's full-frame SLTs do better video at a lower price - if you can't be bothered to buy a video camera.
Nikon.
