Nikon or Cannon, which one?

I'm planning to buy a camera and with a budget of 1000$. Which one should i buy?

They're both amazing. My uncle has a Canon, my dad has a Nikon. Quality is the same with both. Both amazing.

CANON! Most nikons take good photos but lack in video some nikons don't even take video. Canon does both with eveb better quality

Both cameras are excellent. I own both and use them regularly. Judging from media attention lately I would give the nod to Canon in a DSLR. Nikon if you want a compact. You'll love either one. The only problem with any of them is that as soon as you own it, there's a better one available.

They're both good makes - see both and decide yourself rather than being swayed by 'fanboys'

This is akin to wondering which pair of trousers to put on.
Pick the one you like.

Nikon

I like Canon, and suggest that you go with the latest one Canon EOS Rebel T3i. It is top selling camera these days. The following review compares it to Nikon:

Compared to Nikon D5100, the Canon 60D, and the Nikon D7000; I prefer T3i because of the articulating LCD screen. The reason I chose the T3i over the Nikon D5100 was because of video manual focus on the Canon and also the Nikon D5100 does not have a built-in focus motor.
Also the T3i is available at a great deal (15% discount) and with the lens kit; you will save more money.
