Size is specific. Only 35mm or size 135. Type? Color, B/W or slides. Get color negatives for easiest handling. Select ISO 100 for shooting under the sun, 400 for action, 200 for all-around. You also have a choice of 12, 24 or 36-shot rolls. Ask the store beforehand where to develop. If they do it themselves, you're lucky.

Your choice of film depends on what you want in the end.

If you're shooting slides, you'll need a slide film, if you want prints, get regular 35mm print film.
There's the choice of black and white or color film if you're doing prints.

Choose a high ISO (400, 800, etc) if you are shooting in low-light, need to capture action, or want a "grainy" artistic look
Choose a low ISO (100, 200, etc) if you want the sharpest image and/or may be making huge prints from your shots.

Here's some guidelines for you to further help you choose.

You have a good clue here. 35 mm SLR camera. So that would mean it uses 35 mm film.

Are you really saying that you think you need to use different film if you use a different lens?
