Nikon D1300 blurry pictures?

I recently got a Nikon d1300 camera, when i put it on a stable spot on timer the pictures usually come out blurry, why is this so and how do i fix this

There are a plethora of things that can cause a blurry picture

are you sure that the camera isn't simply out of focus?
what shutter speed are you using?
are you sure that it is stable?

without any movement, it is impossible to take a blurry picture

1) Switch de lens to autofocus (A):

2) Be aware that the distance between the camera and the subject will never be less than 3 ft

Re read your owner's manual on the D3100, maybe you read the D1300.

When you set the camera up make sure to focus on the subject. When it has focused, move the AF switch (A-M) on the lens to M.

Set the timer and voila', your picture should be in focus.
