My Nikon 18-55mm kit lens clicks when zooming?
I can't seem to find any info about this. When i turn the zoom ring it goes click click click inside it. I haven't damaged it or anything so i do not know what is happening. I only bought it like 2 and a half weeks ago with my D3300. Specifically it clicks when i extend it from its compact position to 18 or when i extend from 24 -18 (and vice versa)
Added (1). Also I can't see any problems. I don't know if VR is the cause or anything and I'm pretty sure it's working
It won't hurt to take it back where you got it and explain the problem - or to ask Nikon directly (just google them and check out their website for your country).
If your VR is active, that would explain the "clicking"
If you are shooting at a high enough shutter speed, 1/250th second or faster or on a tripod, you do not need to have the VR feature active
It's damaged. Bring it back to the store you bought it from along with the sales receipt.
