My 18-105 kit lens is currently unavailable and I have these lenses to choose from, which would be the next one to go for? They're all NIKKOR ones.
10-24MM F3.5-4.5G AF-S DX
35MM F1.8G AF-S DX
70-300MM F4.5-5.6G AF-S VR IF-ED

Added (1). 55-300 F 4.5-5.6G VR too

Added (2). MICRO 85MM VR F3.5G also

The 55-300mm makes the most sense for general purpose photography… Same budget class as the 18-105mm, and the most extra options vs.having just the 18-105mm.

Of course, each of those lenses is better for completely different things:

10-24mm - for landscapes
35mm - for low light shooting
70-300mm (or the cheaper 55-300mm) - for sports
85mm micro - for close-up shots of flowers, jewelery etc.

Since you don't say what you (want to) shoot, only you can judge which of those lenses would actually be most useful.

It totally depends on what you want to do with your camera, wildlife then the telephoto is favourite, macro then the macro lens, landscape then a wide angle lens, if it's for portrait then the 50mm f1.4 or f1.8 is better than the 35mm, used close to the subject the 35mm will distort with long noses and chins, the 50mm puts you further away for the same shot and will distort a lot less. The 85mm Macro is also good for this, but doesn't have the wide aperture.

Don't buy a lens you have no current use for.

As a 'rule of thumb' wider aperture lenses offer more creativity, not only are they better in low light especially for the auto focus, they also offer narrow depth of field for 'selective focus' shots where the subject is sharp and the background blurred, but they do cost a lot more and in the longer focal lengths soon get to be large, heavy and expensive.

The image quality on a prime lens (one focal length - not a zoom) will be optimised, with a zoom lens image quality will be compromised to get the zoom function, the wider the range of the zoom the more the compromise.
