What are good uses for AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D camera lens?
Besides portraits, why would one want this lens?
Cheap
low light use
fast shutter use
depth of field control
lightweight
low distortions
I second Paul Rs answer
It's a fast lens and it's cheap. The very large aperture size will make it good for shooting in relatively low light. It will also make it good for shooting freezing fast moving objects. Obviously one would want that lens only if he knew how to use it.
For:
-Street shot
-Sport
-Proxy macro
-Landscape
-Abstract
Etc.
And of course the f/1, 8 aperture.
You know it's not because people use it for portrait that the lens was made for it, it's what you make out of it that count.
