Sigma or Tamron 70-200mm?

I wanted to get some opinions from some of you. I only own Nikon lens, but can't afford the 70-200mm 2.8 price for Nikon. I was wondering if you would recommed Sigma or Tamron? I can't decide which one to go with.

I would suggest the sigma because it has a better build quality and overall better performance. But its always better to go to a camera shop and try it for yourself and make your own decision.

I wouldn't recommend either. I own one third party lens, a Tamron, and I'll not buy another. In fact it's so problematic that it's in a drawer and not even in my bag. But Nikon lenses - trust me you'll be much happier in the long run. Yes they do cost more because they're much higher quality than most 3rd party lenses.
