Please explain Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II Zoom Lens?
Please explain each term in this lense's name. And what all sort of photography objects can be captured using this (like sky, scenes whatever )
Nikon is the manufacturer
AF-S: motor in the lens which gives quick focussing and auto focus on the d3000/d5000 series
DX: Reduced image circle, can't be used on a D700 or better without severe limits
18-200: zoom range
f/3.5-5.6: aperture at 18mm is f3.5, at 200mm it's f5.6
G: No aperture ring on the lens.
ED: at least one element in the lens is made of Extra-low Dispersion glass which helps keeping down chromatic aberrations.
VR II: Lens contains vibration reduction mk2 feature which is a stabiliser which allows you to shoot up to 4 stops slower than you normally could.
This is nikon's all purpose lens, can be used for just about anything but excels at nothign.
