My Nikon 18-55mm Lense has locked up, and I can't zoom?
Help! The zoom on my Nikkor 18-55mm lense has locked, how can I fix it.
Added (1). No it's not, it is my colleges, and I really need to be able to fix it.
I'm sure you won't be able to fix it without a trip to a pro shop. Better do that. It'll cost you but they can probably repair it. However keep in mind the repair may be more expensive that a new lens.
See if there's a lock button on the lens. One of mine has that feature to keep it from moving when not in use.
Hate to break it to you, but you're pretty much screwed unless you wanna pay for a professional to fix it. Try searching for "camera repair" on google maps and locate places close to where you live. Don't try to force the lens to 'unlock', you can easily make things worse.
Be happy that it's one of the cheapest lenses Nikon makes and not something much more expensive.
