Without seeing the lens it is very difficult to see what is happening, but in general lenses are very complex in design and even if you fix the appearance of the lens it most likely will not auto focus properly depending on the severity of the damage.nikon and camera take care of their customers i recommend you send it to them and depending on it warranty status and cause of damage it may be covered for free. This is you best bet because they will fix the lens and calibrate its zoom insuring your lens is working as it should.

YOU don't fix it. The lens manufacture will repair it.

You just killed your camera.

If it is worth over about $150 take it to a repair shop.
If it is worth under about $150 throw it a way and buy a new one.

Best to take to good camera shop or send to repair works. It's a precision job for which you have neither the tools nor the knowledge.
