Does Sigma lenses work on the new Nikon D7100?
I'm planning to buy the new Nikon D7100 and sigma 70-200mm F2.8. I did little research on the Nikon D7100 but I couldn't find the answers for the other lenses such as Sigma and tamron. So here the question, does Sigma lenses and other different lenses beside Nikon lenses work on the D7100?
The Sigma 70-200mm is an HSM model with a built-in autofocus motor. Therefore it will work throughout the Nikon line if you purchase it with a Nikon mount.
I have a 1st gen Sigma 70-200mm HSM F/2.8 and use in on my D300 and D90. The D90 was updated to the D7000, and the D7000 is the predecessor to the new D7100.
Incidently, the D7100, and all Nikon models above it, will work perfectly with any Nikon F mount lens ever made, including lenses from the 35mm cameras of the 60's.
Any Sigma and Tamron lens with a Nikon mount will work on D7100. Just remember that both third party manufacturers make lensesfor multiole camera types so you must make sure to buy one with a Nikon mount
If the sigma lense with Nikon mount, it will work with Nikon D7100.
