Is there some way I can use a Nikon G lens on a older film camera?
Is there some sort of adapter? I have a DSLR right now but I would love to have a film camera too. I don't want to but two sets of lenses, one for film and one for digital. Is there some sort of adapter I could buy in order to use a Nikon G lens on a Nikon film camera?
The Nikon bayonet has not changed. Old Nikon lenses fit on the new bodies. You just won't be able to use some, most, or all of the bells and whistles.
You can use it on any newer Nikon Body as otherwise much of the automation won't work. Newer cameras such as the F5 and F6 will make use of most if not all the automation on the lens.
The G series of lenses has not manual aperture control so you'll need to make sure that the camera can make full use of it. Hence, an F5 or F6 would be your best choice.
