Is there any cheap wide lens available for Canon DSLRs?
The Nikon 35 mm AF f1.8G lens is very cheap. I need one such lens for Canon.
To my knowledge there's no EF-S 35mm prime lens made by Canon, Tokina, Sigma, or Tamron. You will have to buy an EF version, which is going to be more costly.
Well I'm sure you will disregard my answer, but here it is regardless. Going out and buying a decently good camera such a Canon DSLR and then looking for a "cheap" lens is bad news if your bought the camera to take great/good pictures. Now if you are looking for a good deal on a specific Canon lens that is a different story. For instance, I searched for quite awhile looking for a 100mm macro for my Pentax DSLR. The new ones sell for about $850.00. I was able to find a great used one for abit over $500.00! Now that is what I classify as a great deal. But looking for a Tamron, or other off beat lens to take the place of Pentax or in your case Canon lenses just does not make sense and will end in disappointment for you. Especially if you make good size enlargements like the 11x14's that I routinely make.
The only Canon lens that gets close to that for price is the EF 40mm f/2.8
