Hey recently a person recommended me of sony nex 5! I saw its reviews on net! It seems to be good! But i personally think nikon and canon are best at making cameras! Anyone using this camera?

It depends on what you want from the camera. Sony is great, but I'm not a fan of the NEX systems.
It's being touted as a "mini DSLR."
They don't make a whole lot of sense to me, personally. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt:
If you want a DSLR, buy a DSLR. If you want a point and shoot with the capabilities of a DSLR and not the investment buy a bridge camera.

With a DSLR or the NEX cameras you have to invest in lenses to do everything you want to do. Lots of money can be invested real quick. It's definitely worth it if you are serious about photography. In which case you'd want a full DSLR anyway. Add to that the price of the NEX lenses being astronomical for the lenses-no consumer grade inexpensive lenses to be had there. It can use the minolta and sony alpha lenses with an adapter, however there's no auto focus to be had at that point. If you want auto focus (and if you are looking for a hybrid like that I would definitely want auto focus) you must use the Sony E mount lenses.
Compare the Sony 18-55 f/3.5-5/6 lens at $299 to the Canon and Nikon version of the same lens at roughly $179.
With a Bridge camera you can shoot in full manual mode just like a DSLR or you can shoot in the multitude of amazing point and shoot modes like the point and shoots. Added benefit is that it has a mega zoom built in as well as macro capability. Not tons of lenses to invest in.

Lastly-the entry price is more than the entry level DSLR's with the same lens. Why would you compromise, expect to pay more for lenses instead of just buying a DSLR? Or spending less to get more on a bridge. Doesn't make sense to me. Again, just my 2 cents.

As you can already tell there's lots of different opinions… So I'll give you my 2 cents worth.

Sony has been the standard of the broadcast television industry for many years - I know because I did a career in television news / sports photography.

However they entered the consumer market a relatively short time ago and their gear has yet to be tested over time. I don't believe you can show me one working professional photographer who uses this brand - it's always Canon or Nikon… For many reasons.

This brand, Sony, is probably okay but I wouldn't buy them.
