Is it worth the money to get a Nikon D5300 over a Nikon D3300?
I'm a 14 year old boy who is just getting into photography. My dad is a Nikon shooter and he has some very nice lenses that I can use. I'm wondering if it's worth the extra couple hundred dollars to get the D5300? I like the look of the D3300 better and the layout as well.
The most appealing thing about the D5300 is the articulated LCD screen.
Since most of us use the camera viewfinder to compose our images, such a screen is not an important issue.
Please note: If your dad has any Nikkor AF-S lenses, then they can all be used on either the D3300 or D5300. However if many of his lenses are Nikkor AF lenses, they can't be used in the auto-focus mode on either of those cameras. In order to use those older lenses, you need a camera like the Nikon D7100 or a good used Nikon D7000
Hi, Both cameras has same features. Expect focus points D5300 has 39 focus points. And flip out screen / Wi-Fi / Gps. I would recommend if you are a beginner D3300 is very good
I'm with fhotoace, I'd bag myself the D7000 and nick the old mans lenses.
