Imported video won't play?

Okay, so I imported a video from my Nikon camera to my computer. When I try to play it through the media player or through windows movie maker it won't play. At first it was just no sound and now it is the whole video!

You did not tell us what you are trying to use for playback. As I recall, Nikon consumer cams record to MOV files. Download and install QuickTime or VLC player for playback. WMP can't deal with the format. If you want to edit in MovieMaker, you need to convert the video to a format (WMV) the MovieMaker can deal with.
