If I delete pictures off a mac, do they stay in iPhoto?

If I want to delete pictures off a mac computer's desktop or nikon software, will it delete the pictures from iPhoto?

If you have on iCloud then they should!

Many questions about iPhoto can only be answered accurately by knowing the version number. This one is one of the few questions that applies to the last four years of iPhoto… Just for your future consideration.

iPhoto has the option either to make copies of everything… Or NOT. Here is how you check your settings…
- Launch iPhoto.
- Go to the top menu bar, iPhoto > Preferences.
- Select the "Advanced" icon (looks like a gear).
- For "Importing", is there a selection for "Copy items to the iPhoto Library"?

Since you know how unpredictable computers can be, you should make a backup of every important photo, song, Word document, and movie onto an external drive.
