Nikon, or give consideration to Canon, and Pentax if looking for a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR).
Bridge cameras- Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus.

I don't care for Sony They do not back up their product as well as the others.(personal experience).

If you want to learn photography then nothing beats a DSLR and you possibly can get one like Nikon D3100 around 25K INR. But if you don't want to expand your budget then look for Nikon P510 or Panasonic FZ150 - both are very capable bridge cameras. Canon SX40 HS is another option with very good set of features. In case you're looking for something compact - Nikon P310 represents great value for money! Sony cameras are a bit overpriced for what they offer.
