I have a Nikon D 60 SLR film Camera will the Lenes work on the new Cameras?
Will the old lenses work on the new camera body's looking to going Digital
Nikon D60 is a digital SLR!
If you have the kit lens of F60/N60 then it'll work on digital cameras but will not autofocus on the starting dslr bodies.
Which lenses do you have? Which camera body are you planning to buy?
The D60 is a DSLR
so yes, they will work
Err… Confused. D60 is a digital camera? Do you mean that you are upgrading your Nikon film camera to D60? Or are you upgrading D60 (digital) to a higher level model?
If you are upgrading D60 - then any lenses that you had for it will work with your new camera, except if you are going full frame, such as D700 or D3. Then only non-DX lenses will work fully.
If you are going from unnamed film camera to D60 - check out this page for a detailed information about the kinds of lenses you may have and which ones will work with D60 as well as other Nikon dSLR cameras:
If you have an N60 (I've got a couple in my cabinet), then the Nikon mount AF lenses will work with mid to upper level Nikon DSLR's with full autofocus and metering.
Entry level Nikons such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D5000, & D3100 require Nikon AF-S or AF-I lenses for autofocus.
I've been able to use my older Nikon AF lenses on D50, D70, D200, & D300 cameras with no problem.
For the nikon D60 go with 18-55lens which is better for you.
• VR (Vibration Reduction) minimizes camera-movement image blur, enabling handheld shooting ~3 stops slower
• Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element and aspherical lens element
• Built-in A/M switch enables instant exchange between AF & manual focus
• Silent Wave Motor for ultra-fast, ultra-quiet AF
• Non-rotating front element eases use of polarizing filters
• Rounded 7-blade aperture diaphragm renders pleasing out-of-focus highlights
