How to make pictures not be blurry?

So I just got this Nikon camera yesterday that was $300 and yesterday it was amazing! I was taking pictures of plants, flowers, and even my cat. They were coming out super clear! Today I was taking pictures and I noticed that they were coming out blurry. If I set it on the table, it wouldn't be, but if I held if really still it won't come out as clear as yesterday!

I don't want to take a tripod every times want to take a picture of plants and stuff. How to I keep my hand still so I don't make it blurry? I think it happens when I hit the clicker. Maybe there's a setting but I looked and I have blurry reduction on.

First off, you can turn on the flash, that always heps! On my camera (i just have a small digital one) there's a setting that says it will take photos of things close up or things at any distance… On my camera it is a button that looks like a flower… You can contact me if you need any more help

Sounds like you don't have the flash on in a low light situation. My point and shoot does the same thing, only turn off the flash if your outside in daylight OR if you have a tripod to ensure your camera stays completely still.

Either use the flash or set your camera to the highest ISO setting and hope for the best.

Go on S mode, and put the shutter speed up a bit. The shutter speed is how fast the camera takes the photo. Put it as far away from the seconds (numbers + ") as possible, without making the photo too dark.

Using the viewfinder, and keeping the camera as close to you as possible helps. Holding on hand on the lenses too.

Lying down or kneeling are easier than standing up, and allow you to get to the level of the flowers, plants.etc
