How to download pics from camera to laptop?

I have a Nikon camera, it's working fine. I used to be able to hook it up to the USB cord and it would download the pics onto my laptop but now it won't work. What do I do!

Reinstall the Nikon camera picture capture software and driver onto the laptop.
Download it from Nikon support if you do not have or have lost the install disc.
Remove the camera memory card insert it into laptop open the memory card and copy the pictures.

Open up the nikon camera to reveal the memory chip and battery.take out the memory chip by pressing it down a bit (it will pop back up and you can then take it out). Find a slot on your laptop that fits the chip size-wise. Push the chip in, words-side up.click "my computer" or on a mac, go to finder and you'll see it shows up and you can open the chip and drag the folder of pictures onto your computer- probably into your pictures folder.

Well, clearly you find out what's wrong with your USB connection. Try another cable, try the camera on another computer, etc. Otherwise, just pull the SD memory card from the camera and use a card reader to get the pics into the computer.
