Electronics products may cost 2 times or even 4 times dearer than in the US. The reason is the high tariffs imposed by the Brazilian government for imports.
If you are going to Brazil for tourism, you'd better bring your own camera. Imports in Brazil are way too expensive. That's why every time I go to Brazil to visit my relatives, there's always someone who will ask me to take an electronics import to him/her - because I'm allowed to bring up to US$ 500.00 worth of products without taxation.
