How to take film out of a battery-operated camera without re rolling it?
I have a Nikon N6006 or F601 camera. Thankfully, I had just finished a roll of film when my camera battery died, but I don't know how to extract the film without the battery to auto-roll it for me.
I've been told I could just open it up in the dark room, but I'd like a little clarification before I try o open it blind. I'm already a little clumsy rolling film onto the reels.
Any help or tips would be appreciated.
Get another roll of film, and find a screwdriver that will turn the 'gear' in the center. Take camera & screwdriver (put screwdriver in your pants pocket to leave both hands free for the first step) into a totally dark room or closet, open the camera & be as careful as you can to remove the roll with minimal contact with the film. Put the camera on the floor, & use screwdriver to reel in film. Ta Dah!
Why not change the battery?
Go to a good cameras shop and buy a film changing bag.
