GREEN SPOTS WHEN I TAKE PICTURES?

Hi, I have a NIKON D 5000 and when I use a Tokina AT-X PRO 116 ASPHERICAL I noticed in some pictures I get a green spot that looks fogy. I started noticing this a week ago but before the pictures came out awsome. Any idea why I'm getting a green spot in some pictures and not others? Could it be my lens or some settings.

Sounds like dust either on the inside of your lens - try cleaning that or on the sensor. I would trust only a pro to clean my camera's sensor - I'd never try it.

NO NEED TO SHOUT!

Examples help. Could be flare, could be dirt somewhere could be any of a number of things. Post a pic where you got it and where you don't.

The most likely cause is called "ghosting", which is a reflection of a bright light source from the sensor, onto the rear elements of the lens, and back onto a different section of the sensor. It is almost always green in color, due to the green color of the hot mirror over the sensor.

Look at the shots with the green spots… There's probably a bright light source in the photo. Glare, sun, some very bright spot compared to the rest of the image.
