What's your word about Nikon D5100?

Just bought used D5100, I can't test it yet. This is my second camera, my first was the Nikon D3100 but I had no time to explore it and in the end I sold it. Later I started to feel bad for selling it and desided to buy a new one, upper class. First I thought about Nikon D300 but I haven't got enough budget for that. Then I thought to buy D200 but it seemed too aged. And at the end I bought the D5100, what's your word about it?

The D5100 definaitly has some better features like the fully articulated LCD and contrast-detect AF, face detection and subject tracking in live view.

Here is a link that compares the D5100 and D3100

I have also included a link that compares the sensor performance of the two. As you will see, the D5100 has a much higher performing sensor

You won't like what most of us have to say. You sold a perfectly good camera that is capable of incredible performance because you "had no time to explore it". I fail to understand what leads you to believe that you will have "time to explore" your new camera. You're a dilettante with too much money to spend on whims & the dream of becoming a photographer, but you don't understand that photography is
< 10% about the equipment. You will wind up leaving your new camera on the shelf once you realize that you have to study & work at your craft.

Not an improvement over the D3100. Picture quality will remain the same but shooting may slightly become easier if you know what you're doing.

I'm a huge fan of the D5100… I carry one in my bag, it's the camera I use nowadays to demonstrate that you can get great quality shots with a modest budget and it doesn't have to be hard work… The D5100 is fun to use, not too complicated and delivers super images, it uses the same sensor as the D7000 so it's a capable tool.

In all honesty it never fails to impress me, I give it the 'Thumbs Up' and 'Highly Recommend' it… Enjoy!

I don't know what is keeping you from testing it, but it is worth while to do so. Just take your time and do it right.
