What nikon cameras are compatible with the d200 lenses?

I was given a nikon d200 slr camera with about 4 different af lenses. I like the camera but it doesn't have any video or photo editing abilities. Is there a newer nikon camera with video and editing that would work with the lenses that have now?

Any of the Nikon cameras other than entry level cameras can use the lenses you have now.

You do NOT need video, nor to you need to do on camera photo manipulation. You have a professional level APS-C camera. Any retouching is done using a program like Photoshop, but if you are composing and exposing your images in the camera correctly, you do NOT need to do any retouching.

Yes, you can buy a Nikon D7000 or D7100 and they have video but you need to read this before you start depending upon a basically still camera with a video feature, you need to read these

There's NO reason you can't use the D200 to produce amazing images. All you have to do is learn the fundamentals of photography and how to use the cameras light meter.

Don't be in a big hurry to buy another camera until you master what you have. I can take years to get to the point where you get brilliant images each time you press the shutter release

There's no such thing as "Nikon D200 lenses" those are just lenses that happened to come along with the camera that was given to you.

They will work with any Nikon dSLR with a crop sensor (nikon calls this DX format).

try having fun with the camera you have now. While the image sensor is very dated, in good light, the image quality is just as good as a new dSLR. In low light at high ISO, there will be lots of noise in the images.

A newer Nikon that shoots video will cost more. Entry level models do NOT have auto focus motors, so take a look at your lenses, do they have motors?

Your D200 has an auto focus motor. The newer bodies like the D3000, 3100, 3200, 5100, 5200 do not have motors. Any lens that has no motor will still work, it just won't auto focus, it becomes a manual focus lens.

the lowest with motors are the D7000, D7100.

Why would you want a camera with editing? You do that on a computer. If you want a toy, buy a compact with all those features and gimmicks. You have a real camera. Switch from jpeg, to RAW mode, and start shooting.
