Vertical Grips for the Nikon D300?

S, i'm looking to buy a vertical grip for my D300, as it stands, my options are limited (lets just say i can't get the Nikon MB D10),

so I'm left with

Meike
DSTE
(These are the only two "branded" third party grips i can find in the UK),
Pixel
Vivitar

or

Hahnel (Though if i had to out of Nikon or Hahnel, i'd get a second hand Nikon).

My problem is i heard the Meike is good, BUT, problems occur after about 6 months (go figure, it's the lowest knockoff), and the DSTE just looks to be the same but different name, i can get these for about 35 GBP.

Now, i heard some good thing about the "Pixel D10", which i can get from the US for about 60 GBP.
And i also heard some good things about the "Vivitar MB D10", which i can also get from the US for the same price.

But as far as my knowledge goes, that's it. Are the Pixel or Vivitar worth that bit extra? Obviously, the grip lasting a while is important, but the feel is important to me too? Any help?! Any other recommendations?

Personally, I use a DSTE battery grip on my D5100… The DSTE is one of the better third party options, it's rated better than the Neewer and Meike grips. DSTE grips should come with a 2 year warranty the other brands don't… It's worth looking into… That's what swayed me.

Nikon don't support the D3000 or D5000 series with own brand battery grips… So you don't have any alternative other than going with the third party brands. The D300 has improved build and it's for this reason i'd try and find a genuine Nikon second-hand/used grip… The D300 really deserves it…

I've just picked up a D7000 and will stick a DSTE grip on it… I'll be on the look out for a used Nikon grip though.
