Does the Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord work with the D3000?

From the sources advertised, they say that it is compatible with the D3100.So will it be compatible with the D3000 as well?

Yes, the mc-dc2 will work with your 3000. The wireless ML-L3 will also work with your 3000, but not with the 3100.

I verified this fact with my son's D3000. There's no wired remote port on the camera.

The D3000 only supports the ML-L3 IR wireless remote.

The D3100 only supports the MC-DC2 wired remote.

Why Nikon made that change is anyone's guess.
