My camera flash kills things?

Its super strong,
How can I make a flash filter ( or somthing? )
Or does Nikon make them?
( nikon d200 )
Added (1). What I need is an answer on how to filter it out, so I can get close up shots that aren't "dead" from my flash.
I'm going to start macro photography in january.

Purchase new ccamera of kodeck or sony

Do you understand flash? Do you know why the camera has it? Have you read anything about your flash in that no doubt wonderful little book that came in the same box with the camera?
You're standing too close.

Turn it on a No Flash setting.

Are you talking about causing death or too much light overexposing your subject? The D200 built-in flash isn't that strong and won't cause death.
What type of macro photography? Living things or inanimate objects?
If living things outdoors, an external flash with diffuser and reflector cards, preferably off the camera.
If inanimate objects, use a light tent with a few work lamps (buy at the hardware store). You can use a plastic 1 gallon milk jug as a diffuser.

Learn how to control flash strength. Read the user's manual.

I'm not too familiar with Nikons, but I suspect they have a feature called "flash compensation". Check your users manual. It should allow you to dial in more or less flash than the camera thinks it needs.
