Looking for Nikon D300 D-SLR lenses?
I just bought a Nikon 10 MP D3000 DSLR camera and I'm looking to buy some more advanced macro lenses and longer zoom lenses than what the camera comes with (18-55mm Zoom). Since I'm new with the Digital SLR cameras, I'm not exactly sure which ones to research. Any suggestions or facts that would help me determine the difference in distance of zoom, or quality of the lenses?
These will help you learn about the difference in "distance of zoom" -
As far as quality, as a general rule, the Nikon brand lenses are better than the 3rd party lenses, but only as a general rule. Sigma, Tokina, and Tamron make some nice lenses once you get over the entry level stuff. You can find lens reviews all over the place, but start with the user reviews for each lens on B&H Photo. If you find a few lenses that seem similar to you, you can always come back here and ask for opinions.
Here you go - check out the Nikon site itself.
A very good all purpose walk about lens is Nikon's 18~200 IF/ED - VR zoom. It has a very nice close focus, amazing actually, and is not a big lens. It is on my S-5 all the time.

For a true macro you may want to look at Nikon's 60mm f/2.8. Bright, crisp and solid. Not to mention - sharp.
