How to post-process images like this?

I stumbled across a beautiful photo stream on flikr. The photographers name is Ed McGowan (screen name: isayx3) and he seems to only use a Nikon d3 in most of his images but his photos are amazing, they have a vintage film kind of effect to them and I was wondering how he achieves such nicely coloured photos.

I looked him up on flickr, and you're right, his stream is wonderful!

A lot of the photos seem to have been processed differently, so could you point us to a particular photo you like the post processing of?

There are a multitude of different effects and techniques he is using on the stream.
From basic saturation and sharpening to full blown HDR.

The "film" effects are just done with toning and the like.
