Canon 5D Mark 3 or Nikon D800? And why?

I've been searching for a new camera for 6 months and it all comes down to two cameras; the Canon 5D Mark 3 and the Nikon D800. I'm not sure which camera to get and I would like to hear others opinions on why I should get a particular camera

Nikon D800 is recommended for studio purpose, otherwise go for 5D mark III, better to see specification comparison review between these two camera (at source)

Save some money, get a better image sensor and get the Nikon D600. If you can handle a more basic level full frame, Canon's brand new 6D.

The 5D mark III is a great camera, but too much considering the image sensor barely performs better than the old mark II. The D800 image sensor has fantastic resolution, but you pay for it at high ISO.

People that go by the DxOmark scores without digging in, and finding the real sensor performance (screen, not print) will find that it's not the miracle image sensors that the initial test scores would indicate. If you don't need video, the Nikon D700 full frame beats out every image sensor from every camera I just mentioned when you look at the real image sensor score. Look for a used one.

I have the 5D Mark III and I love it… The colors are more rich than the Nikon and it has a few more features and takes better video.
I do love the extra mP with the Nikon but I do not like most of their lens that are available.
I shoot all L glass in cannon.
Call me if you need more one to one answers kai 302-588-7890 and I have been shooting mostly canon for over 30 years.

Sony do a full-frame SLT at a lower price.
