For photographers out there?

I'm planning to buy a camera, so which brand is best Nikon or Canon?

I prefer Sony myself. None of the brands are "better" it just depends on what your needs are.

Neither brand is the best.they're definitely the most popular in the consumer camera market, but neither is better than the other. It all comes down to ergonomics, really.

I'm a Canon fan myself but I know for a fact that Nikon's stuff is just as good.

Both are good. It depends on what you want to use it for. I prefer fujifilm myself but its up to you.

Try them and buy the one you like best - subtle differences in controls may shift you to one ot the other. Performancewise comparing similar models, the performance is the same.

Hasselblad is the industry standard. Canon and Nikon are the most popular. If you are looking for an easy to use point-and-shoot camera, choose among the various Sony Cybershot and Pentax Optio models. If you are after a dSLR, any brand or model is good.
