Would it be worth it to rent these lenses before choosing which one I want to buy?

I have a Nikon D90 and a couple of not-so-great lenses right now. I want to add a 50mm prime to my kit but I can't decide between the 1.4 and the 1.8. Should I rent each of them for a weekend to see which one I like better?
What's the best place to rent lenses from if I decide to do it? I would probably not need them for more than 2-3 days.

Do you know anyone who has the 1.8 you could play with it? It's silly to rent it when it costs just over a$100. I would definitely recommend comparing them for yourself. If renting is what you must do-do it.
