Would a Nikon D60 be sufficient to take photos of golfers swinging?

Is there a setting on the camera to allow multiple shots of a golfer hitting a ball? If not, what digital would be best?

You need a highspeed video camera for that. One with a synced strobe. Probably with a shooting rate of from 100fps to 4000fps.
NO dSLR will do what you are implying.
Check with some professional golf trainers who use such cameras and they should be able to hook you up.
This is one link to such a camera setup
