What program should I use to take HDR photos with my Nikon D60?

I've heard that there are programs available… Hopefully freeware… That if I d/l to my laptop, I can hook to my Nikon D60 and it'll take photos for HDR automatically. (As there's no auto setting for this in the D60, unfortunately.) Any help? Can't remember where I had come across the idea before.

When I Google it, I come up with nothing helpful…

You can Bracket your shots, to get them ready for HDR. (-1, 0 +1)

Then in post processing, you create your HDR (which takes time and skill to create a "well" HDR… No automatic).

And for software, you can try a free download of Photomatix.

All of these assume you having shot some pictures with bracketed settings.

There are Nikon based software tethered shooting options available for newer, semi-pro models of cameras but this should work for your D60;

I've used it for the D300. According to the link, it should work with your D60 and it does bracketing I believe (i've not used it in a while).

The best HDR software I've found is Dynamic Photo HDR (I've used both this and Photomatix Pro, plus CS5)

Just an additional comment - and I expect you are already aware of it - make sure the camera is on a tripod so that all the images overlap exactly when you take them!
