I believe the Nikon D70s only has direct support for Compact Flash (CF) and MicroDrive (MD). You may be able to find an SDHC to CF adapter but these are often unreliable, and will be limited to the maximum storage size of a CF card compatible with the camera.

Look on page 160 of your user manual. It tells you that you can use CF cards that are up to 4 gb (FAT32), but since it can "see" any FAT 32 CF card,. That means you can use larger capacity cards

On page 203 of your user manual, it tells you that your camera uses CF cards

CF cards are much more robust than SD/SDHC cards and support higher read/write speeds as well.

I have been able to use 4Gb SD cards in my D70 (not D70s) with a compact-flash to SDHC adapter. When I gave my D70 to my son, SD cards is all he uses with it (via adapter). I do not know if he has tried to use any cards higher than 4Gb.
