Why won't my videos upload to Windows Movie Maker?

My camera is a Nikon D5100, and I'm trying to put videos together for my Journalism project due Friday. Movie Maker just won't accept the files.
I have short 11 videos that need to be somehow put together, so someone Please help. It's a huge grade! :'

Are you trying to open new project, add video, or import from device? What error are you getting if any?

I went on a spec website, that nikon records in mpeg-4, more commonly associated with apple products. Use this converter to convert the files to.wmv

You should try to convert the files to windows media format. I have Real player that downloads things from the internet (movies, videos, music) and converts them. I also use the converter for other purposes like what you need. Videos from a camera usually come in a computer usable format, but try converting the videos in wmv.format. Good luck on your project. Sorry spelling mistakes!
