Why Nikon AF 50MM 1.8D Lens dose not work with D70?
I bought an older Nikon Camera D70 and it came with 18-70MM lens as well as a Nikon AF 50MM 1.8D lens. But, the 50MM did take photos only with f/22 and NOT with other larger apertures!
Please advise!
On page 183 of the user manual, there's a list of all the lenses the D70 use
If you don't have one, you can download one from Nikon
According to that, all the Nikkor AF "D" lenses will work with you camera
Set the lenses aperture to its smallest opening (f/22 probably) and use the lock on the lens to keep it there. Page 198
Have you tried changing the aperture by moving the aperture ring on the lens?
You can see it in the picture below - here it is set to f/5.6
You need to set the aperture to f/22 and lock it with the little slide switch with the orange dot. Do not use the aperture ring to adjust aperture.
To adjust aperture, you do this in the camera using the front dial under the shutter release button.
