Why my nikon d5100 is always blurred?

I know its sounds stupid or something… I just bought d5100 w/ AF-S nikkor 18-55m… And this is my 1st time using SLR… And right now things are getting complicated… I just dunno why i can't focus my camera… Someone help?

Try placing your camera on Auto rather than Manual. It helps alot. It automatically focus's for you.

With many cameras you need to push the button down lightly (1/2 way) to focus on your subject which you can usually hear, then finish pressing the button to take the focused photo.

You need to sit down somewhere quiet. Take the camera with you, and go through the instructions from the start.

You can try the different features on the camera as you do this.
You will soon learn all what this beast can do, and it is capable of producing stunning pictures.

The d5100 has a plethora of focusing modes, all for different subjects.

Go through all these in the instruction manual.

Practice makes perfect.

Maybe you should read the instructions that came with your camera and then a beginner's photography book.
