I want to purchase the Nikon d5300 but I don't know which lens to buy. I'm a beginner?

Any other combo with D5300 wastes your money.

24-85mm is kit lens for full frame D600. With D5300 it wastes your money. I agree with the maskedman -18-140mm is a good all-round lens. Just use the kit lens it comes with. Get it with the 18-55mm if cash is low and add the 70-300mm if budget allows.
