Which Sigma lens do I have?

I'm currently using my grandfather's Nikon FM2.
It has a lens on it that I just can't figure out exactly what it is, what model and such, and it's driving my crazy, haha. I'm very, very new to the world of SLR cameras, and using separate lenses for cameras and all that, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible.
It says "Sigma Zoom, 1: 3.5 - 4.5 f = 28-80mm Multi-coated" and it's 62mm. My father also told me it's a telephoto lens, not sure if that's right or not.
I'm pretty sure this is a very old lens, and that's why I can't find anything about it.
Oh, and also, it is a Nikon fit, so could it work on a Nikon D70?

Its a wide to standard zoom lens if you need a label, me i would call it a kit zoom lens
yes it will fit on a d70

If the lens doesn't have any electronic contacts, you can use it on the D70, but you can only use it in Manual mode.
