Which nikon camera should I ask for for Christmas?

I'm a 13 year old, daughter of a professional photographer, who is torn between 3 cameras-the d3000, d3100, or the d5000. Right now I like the d5000 the most I think but I just want some opinions. Thanks!

Ps I'm a beginner to intermediate photographer and my current camera is my iPhone 3GS which is only so good

Depending on how much you know/how much you need, I'd say go with the d3100.It replaces the d3000, and the d5000 has little more than the d3000/1 which you would make use of right now. Also, the new d3100 has video, which almost brings it up to par with the d5000. The money your dad saves on it can go towards some awesome f/2.8 lenses!

I have the D3100 and i love it. I had to choose between those 3 as well.
The cool thing about the D5000 is that the screen moves in different directions.
Personally, if your dad is willing to pay a lot of money, i suggest you go with the D90 (i know its not in your list), i'm a beginner and that camera was more or less easy to use (my friend has it), and you won't have a problem if your dad is a photographer.
The d90 has long exposure so you can paint with light, and it has multi exposure to have 2 or 3 pictures in one.
But if not the D90, get the D3100, i think its better than the D500, and just eliminate the D3000 if you're considering the D3100 and the D5000. The D3100 and D500 is more or less the same thing, hardly any difference what so ever. But the D3100 is new! It came out in october.
