Which camera is a better deal?
I'm buying my first SLR camera and i'm stuck between these two:

http://www.nikonusa.com/...D3000.html
i'm really into photography and i'm going to film school in the fall as a cinematography major. Which camera is the better deal?
It seems (tell me if I'm wrong) that the Nixon D3000 is better because it can take pictures, and videos, and in high quality. The other just seems to take somewhat better pictures. My uncle (a professional and successful photographer) has them both… But I personally think the Nixon D3000 works better too. Good Luck With You Decision. And remember if you buy it you can usually return it if you are unhappy with it.
Make sure it is something that is not too ar over you skill level. I had a friend that bought a great camera but was way over their heads with all the settings. You may want to ask your instructor as well
Get the one with more megapixels. Nothing beats a super clear picture.
Of this 2 caemeras
3100 is far better than the d3000
although is you really are into photography get the D90 intead for ($650 in excellent shape with about 2000-8000 acutacion) or get it brand new if money is not an issue
or get the newer D7000
the d90 is one the best and affordable cameras from nikon
d7000 is one one of the top line cameras and is super excellent
check out kenrockwell for more info
i'm nikon and canon and nikon have better quality picture canon better movie
canon has excellent pictures but nikon is a little bit better, just a bit
i love both
No not a nikon!
Why would you even be considering the D3000 for cinematography? The D3100 = Full 1080p HD Cinematic Video with full-time autofocus and sound lets you record cinematic-quality movies in Full 1080p HD format (1920 x 1080 pixels).
I hope you have checked with your school for recommendations on what you need for classes before you buy something inappropriate?
Get the canon rebel T2i, it shoots video too, and if you'll use it all the time at film school for the video. But it also shoots great stills.
On get the Canon 5D but that's much more than I think you want to pay
