Where can I get a new lens?

I have a Nikon D40 and the little plastic bits that hold the lens on are snapped, I want to buy a new lens but I don't have a lot of money I can spend on it. Does anyone know where I can get a lens to fit my camera that's not too expensive? I'm not really fussed about the lens, I just want my camera to work at the moment.

Any af-s lens will work. They sell cheap ones at best buy, and probably Walmart.

Look for a used lens on ebay or some site. I'm sure there are cameras sold for parts. Check with Nikon about a replacement, tell them how it broke could get lucky and one for free.

Take your camera and visit your local camera shops (not an electronics store), and have them show you what they have in your budget (it is a good place to be able to actually look and try used lenses too).
