How much could a get for a like-new nikon3100 with a 18-55 lens and a 55-300 lens?
The actual specs are this. Everything is like new, I used them like twice:
Nikon D3100 14.2 MEGAPIXEL BODY WITH BATTERY & CHARGER (SD CARD )
Nikon Digital 18-55 F3.5-5.6 G ASPHERICAL DX AUTO FOCUS-S VR (52)
Nikon Digital 55-300 F4.5-5.6 G ED DX AUTO FOCUS-S VR (58)
Added (1). Thats about what came up when I entered it into a resell website. The implication of your statement was that there could be a better way to recover my investment? I guess actually learning photography could be a good skill to add substance to my life, but how am I gonna do that if I can't pay my rent.
Here's a kit like that that just sold on eBay for $425. Sounds about right. Selling used cameras - even "like new" - is not a great way to recover your investment. Sorry.
I have to agree with the other answer. You will NEVER recover your investment with any modern digital camera. They depreciate worse than a car. It is just all a part of our typical, modern, electronic, throw away age. The only things that can hold most, but not all, of their value is quality lenses. Unfortunately, even your lenses are of the very low end "kit" variety. I'm NOT trying to belittle what you have, only giving a reality check. Price it all $100 under what you paid for it, and be prepared to drop down even more if you actually want someone to buy it. Sorry.
You might get slightly more by selling the 55-300mm lens as a separate item.
Sad story and my heart goes out to you, but, unfortunately, your not alone.
